During the Citrix Work Launchpad event on October 12, 2021, Tim Minahan and Joe Kim announced that Citrix Workspace would soon be available from within Microsoft Teams. Thus allowing users to remain in Microsoft Teams and still access their virtual apps and desktops and ShareFile.
This unified experience across Microsoft Teams and Citrix Workspace not only allows users to remain in one application but also allows additional document repositories to be available with Teams. This will allow users to collaborate in Teams on documents housed in Citrix Workspace.
Not only can users access file repositories such as Citrix Sharefile they also retain any of the Workspace or ShareFile actions within Microsoft Team such as the ability to share or request files, sign documents, or request signatures.
The Citrix Workspace app in Teams can be enabled and configured by administrators as a default app for users within the organization similar to other Teams apps.
Citrix Workspace experience for Teams will be available in Q4 of 2021.
